Teja Studio was born from a story of beauty, courage, and cultural unity — inspired by Princess Tun Teja, whose marriage to the Sultan of Melaka symbolised the merging of diverse traditions into one shared legacy. Drawing from this spirit, Teja Studio is a celebration of Malaysia’s rich heritage, reimagined through the lens of contemporary art and design.
Rooted deeply in our cultural identity, we honour Malaysian traditions by weaving age-old techniques and indigenous motifs into modern, expressive creations. Whether it’s through our thoughtfully designed products or immersive hands-on workshops, we aim to preserve and share the essence of Malaysian craftsmanship in a way that speaks to both heart and heritage.
At Teja Studio, we believe that tradition and innovation can coexist harmoniously. Our creative approach embraces contemporary design while staying true to our roots experimenting with new forms, colours, and materials that breathe fresh life into traditional arts. Each piece crafted or taught in our studio carries the spirit of Malaysia’s cultural mosaic.
More than just an art space, Teja Studio is a hub for exploration and learning. Our engaging workshops invite participants of all ages to experience Malaysian crafts up close from Batik painting,Songket art, Resin art, Candle art and many more. Led by skilled artisans, these sessions are an invitation to connect, create, and celebrate through craft.

We are committed to providing high-quality teaching programs where participants gain hands-on experience while learning the stories and significance behind every technique. Teja Studio is a dynamic collective of talented individuals hailing from diverse backgrounds, all sharing a common passion for textiles, design, technology, and business. Together, we form Teja Artisan, a team committed to creating exceptional experiences and pushing the boundaries of artistic expression. With our unique blend of expertise and creative energy, we strive to make Teja Studio a hub of innovation and collaboration.
Aida Batrisyia - Founder
Aida Batrisyia is the founder of Teja Studio and a passionate textile designer with a strong academic and creative background. She holds a Diploma in Textile Design from UiTM Machang and a Bachelor's Degree in Textile Design from UiTM Shah Alam. With years of hands-on experience in the field, Aida has cultivated her expertise through both academic training and community engagement.
She has conducted numerous creative workshops, delivered talks at universities, and contributed to art education. In 2020, she served as an arts co-curriculum tutor at Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), nurturing creativity among students through structured art programmes. Today, Aida leads Teja Studio as a creative hub for textile art, design, and cultural exploration.
Hafiz - Co Founder
Hafiz is the co-founder of Teja Studio whose journey into the world of textile art began after leaving his engineering career to pursue his creative calling. A self-taught artist, he has travelled extensively across Indonesia, Japan, and India to immerse himself in the traditional textile crafts of each region. Through these travels, Hafiz not only honed his skills but also built meaningful networks with artisans and designers across Asia.
His commitment to learning and preserving textile heritage fuels Teja Studio’s mission to bridge tradition and modern expression through art. With a deep appreciation for craftsmanship and cultural storytelling, Hafiz plays a vital role in shaping the studio’s direction and artistic spirit.

Our team is also supported by a group of skilled freelance artisans who specialize in conducting crafts workshops.
